Thomas Dunne, Percussion Instructor

Thomas Dunne serves as the Battery Coordinator for the marching band, bringing over a decade of experience in music education, percussion instruction, and ensemble leadership. With a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from USF, Thomas has devoted his career to cultivating
high-performing percussion sections built on discipline, musicianship, and teamwork.

His journey in the marching arts began as a student performer and quickly evolved into a passion for teaching. Over the past ten years, Thomas has worked with numerous high school and Independent percussion programs, most notably serving as the Percussion Director at King High School. During his time there, he led the battery and front ensemble
to consistent success in both competitive marching band circuits and indoor percussion. Under his guidance, students not only achieved technical excellence but also developed a deeper appreciation for the art and discipline of percussion performance.

In his role as Battery Coordinator, Thomas is responsible for all aspects of the battery percussion section, including music instruction, visual integration, technique development, and ensemble
cohesion. He brings a hands-on, student-centered approach to teaching, focusing on building strong fundamentals, encouraging musical expression, and fostering a culture of respect and accountability.

Outside of his professional commitments, Thomas is an avid video game enthusiast and a devoted pet parent to two cats and a dog. He believes
in the importance of balance between work and personal life and often draws inspiration from his hobbies and home life to connect with
students on a more personal level.

Thomas is excited to continue sharing his passion for percussion with the next generation of performers and looks forward to contributing to
the growth and success of the marching band program.
